It's tough to see the Ottawa Senators struggling like this, especially when fans have been waiting for a playoff appearance for so long. The fact that they haven't made the postseason in eight years is a heavy burden for the fanbase. I can understand the optimism from the management, but the reality is that their current performance is far from what’s needed to compete for a playoff spot.

The goaltending situation is a major concern. Linus Ullmark was brought in to be a solution, but with a save percentage of .881, it’s clear that he’s not living up to expectations. It’s frustrating to see former players like Joonas Korpisalo thriving elsewhere while the Senators are left with a shaky tandem. The defense is another glaring issue. Jake Sanderson, who was once seen as a cornerstone of the blue line, has been underwhelming, and the overall defensive play has been reminiscent of a beer league team.

The Senators need to find a way to turn things around quickly, especially with a tough December ahead. Winning against weaker teams is crucial, and they can't afford to drop points in those matchups. The pressure is on, and it will be interesting to see if they can rise to the occasion. I really hope they can pull it together because this team has the potential to be competitive. The fans deserve a playoff run!
