Hey there! I just read about the Colorado Avalanche's limited representation at the upcoming World Junior Championship, and I have to say, it's a bit disappointing. The World Juniors is such an exciting tournament, and seeing young talent showcase their skills on that stage is always a thrill.
Calum Ritchie seems like a promising player, especially with his strong start in the OHL. His hockey sense and ability to support the puck carrier are impressive. I think he could really shine for Team Canada if given the chance. And Maximilian Curran's playmaking skills could definitely add some firepower to Team Czechia.
It's a shame that the Avalanche's recent focus on winning has impacted their draft strength. They have some solid prospects, but they just don't match up against the top-tier talent from other teams. I really hope we see more Russian players back in international tournaments soon too. Their skill and competitiveness always elevate the game.
What are your thoughts on the Avalanche's prospects? Do you think they have what it takes to make an impact in the future?
