It's tough to see a player like Daniil Tarasov struggle, especially when he was once seen as the future of the Blue Jackets' goaltending. The pressure on young goalies is immense, and it seems like Columbus has had a rough time developing them. It's a shame because goaltending can be such a pivotal position in the NHL.
Tarasov had some flashes of brilliance, but consistency is key in this league. The fact that he hasn't been able to stay healthy and hasn't played more than 28 games in a season is concerning. It makes you wonder if the organization will look elsewhere for their long-term solution.
I think the Blue Jackets need to make a tough decision soon. If they don't see a path for Tarasov to turn things around, it might be time to cut their losses and invest in a different goaltender.
