Hey there! I just read about the Rangers trading Kaapo Kakko to the Kraken, and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with how this played out. Kakko may not have reached superstar status yet, but he’s shown he can be a valuable player, especially defensively. The Rangers really needed to be patient and hold out for a better deal.
Trading him for Will Borgen, who’s been struggling, feels like a huge misstep, especially considering the lessons from the Pavel Buchnevich trade. Buchnevich has been thriving with the Blues, and the Rangers have yet to find a suitable replacement for him. It’s frustrating to see a team with so much potential making these questionable moves.
I really hope this doesn’t come back to haunt them like the Buchnevich trade did. Drury needs to step up and make smarter decisions if the Rangers want to compete for the Cup in the coming years. What do you think? Do you believe this trade will age well for the Rangers, or are they in trouble?
