Hey there! I just read about the trade involving Cam Fowler moving to the Blues from the Ducks, and I have to say, I’m a bit puzzled by St. Louis's decision. They seem to be adding another aging defenseman to a blue line that’s already struggling. I mean, Fowler had a decent season last year, but his numbers this season are concerning, especially with the Ducks' defensive struggles.
The Blues are trying to get younger, and then they go and make a move like this? It feels like they’re taking a step back instead of moving forward. I get that they need a puck-moving defenseman, but there had to be better options out there.
On the flip side, the Ducks did well to clear some cap space and make room for their younger guys. It’s smart management to let the young defensemen like Zellweger and Mintyukov get the ice time they need to develop. Overall, I’d give the Ducks a solid grade for this trade, while the Blues might want to rethink their strategy. What do you think?
